Specs
Warranty
The Stairmaster is a stationary fitness machine that rotates steps to simulate climbing. A Stairmaster allows users to climb upward at various speeds and durations.
Low-Impact Workouts
The most significant benefit of a Stairmaster is the low-impact, high-efficiency workout you can get on the machine. If you have knee or joint issues, the Stairmaster is an effective way to get your heart racing and work major muscle groups without adding stress on your joints.
What Muscles Does a Stairmaster Work?
Stairmasters will work your quads, hamstrings, calves, and glutes and provide heart-racing and calorie-burning cardio.
The benefits of a Stairmaster are numerous, including improving your heart health, strengthening your lungs, building lower body muscle strength—especially your glutes, and strengthening bones. The most significant benefit of a Stairmaster is providing both a lower body and a highly-effective cardio workout.
Programs
Each Stairmaster and Stair Climber comes with a wide range of pre-loaded programs, including your essential calorie burn, muscle growth, weight loss, and more. Newer models will feature several challenging and engaging programs, including one of our favorites: Landmark Challenges. These challenges let you climb up well-known landmarks from across the world like the Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, and Taj Mahal.
Which is the right Stairmaster for me?
You have many options and may need some help picking the perfect Stairmaster or Stair Climber for your home. A few things you’ll want to look at before purchasing are size, programs, warranty, and price.
Size / Floor Space
Some Stairmasters are built with commercial workout facilities in mind and maybe too large and bulky for your home gym. If you have the space and the budget, a commercial-grade Stairmaster would be a great addition to your gym but be mindful of the dimensions and the area you have to work with, and most importantly, how high your ceilings are. You do not want to be bumping your head on the ceiling during workouts!
Price
You get what you pay for with Stairmasters and Stair Climber! High-end machines feature top-notch programs, lifetime warranties, bright LCD screens, and all the bells and whistles you could need. Shop around and research to make sure you find the machine you need. You could save quite a large chunk of money by eliminating certain features or choosing the smaller Stairmaster.
Warranty
Stairmasters are complicated machines, and regular maintenance is required to keep them in peak form. They are prone to breakdowns or minor issues after years of usage. You’ll want to shop for a Stairmaster or Stair Climber with a solid warranty to ensure peace of mind for years.
